To improve function and clean the bowel
Many people simply want to experience what a colonic hydrotherapy treatment is like. They may feel bloated and imagine (rightly) that cleaning out the bowel once will be a good way to begin a new diet or fitness routine.
Colonic hydrotherapy is much more than just clearing out the large intestine. Its primary purpose is to improve the function of the colon. More likely than not, the symptoms of bloating, flatulence, lethargy etc that you may be experiencing have built up over time, possibly due to an ineffective digestive system. That is why having one colonic treatment is unlikely to rectify a lazy bowel.
Colonic treatments are all about re-educating the bowel to function at its best. It is also about re-educating the patient in the food they are eating and why they are feeling tired or bloated after meals, or perhaps all the time.
When you come for your first treatment, you will be asked a series of questions, not only about your bowel habits, but also about the food you eat, how you feel afterwards, when you eat, any cravings etc. Based on your answers, we will recommend a number of changes to try in your diet, fluid intake, toilet habits and lifestyle.
Usually, between 3 and 6 treatments are needed to recover function to the bowel. This must be accompanied by following the recommended nutritional supplement programme and eliminating aggravating foods and fluids. Following a detox programme at the same time will have even better results.
We recognise that repeated treatments are required to treat effectively, which is why we have made available a package of three treatments at a reduced cost.
Tip 1
Do you feel empty when you have been to the toilet? "No" is one of the most common answers that I hear. When we sit on the toilet, we are not in our natural position of squatting that we would otherwise adopt if we were caught short in the woods! (You might even find yourself unconsciously sitting on tiptoe on the toilet!) In the squatting position, our thighs are pressing on and supporting our lower large intestine. So, grab a couple of telephone directories and use these as a foot stool when sitting on the toilet. This will put you in a more anatomically correct position to empty when you have a bowel movement. Even alternating between the floor and the stool may stimulate another movement.
Tip 2
Don’t have the time to go? Well make time!!
This is another common problem that adults with constipation have, overriding the natural urge to go either because they haven’t the time, or that they want to go when they get home.
If you have problems going, then make time in the morning. Sit on the toilet for 3 to 5 minutes ready to go, even if you have no urge whatsoever. Take a cup of tea in with you! In addition, have a nice stretch while you are at it. Put both hands together and reach up to the ceiling, don’t forget the telephone directories for a stool!
Repeat this every day for at least a month, no matter what the result. In the trade, this is called ‘potty training’! You are retraining the subconscious mind that it is okay to go in the morning when you make the time. |
